Lugana DOC | Poggio al Garda

SUN | EARTH | GRAPE The Lugana has long since established itself as a real style icon on wine shelves and refrigerators in the middle of society.   It is representative of the skillfully practiced craftsmanship of northern Italian winemaking families and is therefore a prime example of a never-ending trend whose good reputation is based solely on the quality awareness of high-quality producers and love for the most beautiful thing in the world.   South of Lake Garda, less than 30 km from picturesque Verona, the grapes from the Poggio al Garda winery grow and thrive beautifully under the perfect conditions of the Mediterranean sun.     In the glass, this top Lugana certainly shows off its straw yellow color with golden reflections.     When pouring, you immediately find a wealth of stone fruit aromas such as mirabelle plums and white peaches, but there is also a hint of pome fruit that resonates harmoniously.   Spicy aromas and a hint of caramel can also be heard.   There are delicate vegetative notes on the palate, and ripe citrus fruits reminiscent of pomelo fit perfectly alongside the mild acid structure.   Furthermore, this fine Lugana offers a delicate astringency, which settles brilliantly and stimulatingly in the mouth.  The finish is long, characterized by spice and pleasant fruit.   COLOR Straw yellow with golden reflections. ODOR Stone fruit aromas such as mirabelle plums, white peach and pome fruit. Spicy aromas and a hint of caramel.   TASTE Ripe citrus fruits with spice and a pleasant fruity flavor.   RECOMMENDED TO With this wine we recommend the finest beef carpaccio, young spinach dressed cold as a salad with ripe tomatoes, radishes, sheep's cheese and nuts.  But this Lugana is also great as an accompaniment to light poultry dishes, sushi or lemon pasta.
