Back cover 6 - special Japan

Back Cover is an independent magazine imagined and designed by designers, produced as a tool for reflection, discovery and work. The sixth issue of Back Cover is the fruit of a four-month stay in Japan; it is entirely devoted to this geographic and cultural territory. Few creations from Japan reach us. Our knowledge is limited to commercially viable imports and certain marginal, rare practices, introduced here and there by enthusiasts who share their curiosity. Being there has allowed us to get closer to the distance. We tried to understand the multiple facets and the richness of contemporary practices and highlighted certain historical themes by establishing links between the fields of graphic design, typography, popular cultures and visual arts.
