Children's book: On the other side of the tree

A girl finds a cabin in the woods. Curious, she spies out the window and sees a very strange, scary-looking old woman. Scared, she runs away and hides behind a tree, until she later discovers that not everything is as it seems. The mysterious woman comes out and sits on the other side of the same tree. He utters the only words in the entire book: "Once upon a time..." and out of his mouth emerges an incredible character, a friendly dragon who plays with the girl and lets her ride on his back. They laugh and play together until, in the end, it disappears in the same way it appeared: it returns to the old woman's mouth. The little girl sits happily next to the old lady, on the same side of the tree, because she is no longer afraid of her. "Once upon a time..." are magic words for any child. They put their imagination into motion, they can scare away fears and embark them on a journey of colors and surprises, dreams and joys. In addition, the beautiful and sober drawings of the well-known French artist of Iranian origin, Mandana Sadat, leave space for each child's fantasy to fill it to their liking. It is a perfect album to teach little ones that you should not judge others by their appearance, that the unknown can be unexpectedly beautiful, that bonds of friendship and affection can be created even if we are different and that we all carry a story to tell inside. and that deserves to be shared.
