Organic carob

Raw organic carob powder comes from the dried and ground low-temperature pods of the carob tree, a tree grown in the Mediterranean basin. Low in calories and fat, it does not contain gluten or lactose. Often used as a cocoa replacement, its low glycemic index (GI = 15) is of great interest to people looking to reduce their sugar intake. It is not necessary to add sugar. Unlike cocoa, carob contains neither theobromine nor caffeine, two alkaloids with an exciting action on the body. The appetite suppressant effect of carob powder is an interesting slimming aid.
