Bassano ceramic pharmacy jar

Beautiful ceramic apothecary jar before the advent of plastic, around the 80s, pharmacies used jars of ceramic to contain and preserve the herbs with which to make medicines and remedies. This jar was made by the workshops ceramics of Bassano. Bassano is a city in the Veneto region, in northern Italy where from the eighteenth century and up to the mid-1900s numerous artisan workshops created artistic ceramic artifacts. The baratto is in fact modeled and hand painted and bears the name of the craftsman who made it: Razzetti. On the front it was the inscription Salvia was painted: the name of the herb it was to contain. Use it to make your kitchen unique
