The Fairy Tree

The Fairy Tree. On the side of Knocknarea Mountain Co. Sligo there is a solitary thorn tree. County Sligo was the place that inspired the poet William Butler Yeats. Up until the start of the 20th century believe in Fairies was very strong among the people that live in the vicinity of Knocknarea and this in turn inspired the work of the great poet. There are times when the light is misty you can understand why people believed what they believed.
