The story begins with a Welsh rugby player who launched a fish smoking business in the Gers in 2012. Leaving for other horizons in 2017, the employees decided to continue the adventure of their company in cooperative form. This is how the SCIC (Collective Interest Cooperative Society) Fumaison Occitane was born in September 2017.
Fumaison Occitane develops a traditional fish smoking activity (salmon, trout, sturgeon) from Scotland or the South-West (Ariège, Dordogne...).
Recognized for their quality, the products are produced in Auch in the traditional way: salting by hand with unrefined dry salt, smoking with beech wood. At the end of 2021, Fumaison Occitane creates its new brand for specialized networks and delicatessens: L’Exception Occitane
