The organic glycerine contained in the Aqua+ Oil Primer is one of the strongest humectants on the planet, meaning that it is incredibly effective in binding to water molecules and driving them deep into the skin. Our skin cells are swelling up with this hydration, which makes them more elastic and gives them a healthy glow and smoother texture. Facial oils applied on skin prepped with the Aqua+ Oil Primer can block the escape of moisture effectively, meaning the skin is hydrated for longer. Including a humectant-rich cosmetic such as Aqua+ Oil Primer in your skincare can also help to regulate the natural exfoliation process of your skin, as shedding of the skin cells is directly linked to the levels of moisture within it: the more hydrated the skin, the better we get rid of the dead skin cells and the smoother our skin is. Glycerine has also been shown to improve skin’s elasticity by strengthening the structure of collagen by stabilising its triple-helical structure. THE METHOD THE DIRECT METHOD: Spray a good amount of floral water onto your skin or splash it with tap water. Spread a small amount of the Oil Primer (the size no bigger than an oil drop) over your damp face. If you’re using this product as a facial oil base, do not wait for your skin to dry, but apply the oils directly onto the damp skin. THE DILUTION METHOD: Open the bottle of your favourite floral water and add to it the Aqua+ Oil Primer in a 1 to 10 ratio (e.g. 10 ml of the Oil Primer to 100 ml of the floral water). Close the bottle and shake it well, until the ingredients combine. The solution should be used up within two weeks, therefore it is better to prepare it more often but in smaller quantities.
