This premium olive oil is extracted only from carefully harvested and mechanically processed olives of the Koroneiki variety, The Koroneiki olive, originating from the town of Coron (Koroni) in Messinia, south of the Peloponnese, is recognized for its distinctive characteristics: It is renowned for its richness in polyphenols and other antioxidants.   Its bright green color and fruity aroma set it apart.   Its taste is slightly spicy, juicy and fresh.   It is an abundant source of unsaturated fatty acids, notably oleic acid, a quality indicator for exceptional olive oil.
 Kalamata organic extra virgin olive oil with controlled designation of origin is pressed from olives of the Koroneiki variety.
 These olives are grown in the Messinia region around Kalamata in certified organic olive groves.
 Its designation of origin is largely due to the geography of the place.Messinia is a region in the southwest of the Peloponnese enclosed between Mounts Tetrasion and Taygetos (2,404m) which separate it respectively from Elis, to the north, and Laconia, to the east. 
It is also bordered to the west by the Ionian Sea and to the south by the Aegean Sea. 
Which gives this region of 2900 km2 a particular climate over a small area: a cold and snowy winter in the mountains and plateaus, milder along the coast and a dry, hot summer in the interior and cooler on the coast.
