Often confused with cumin, caraway is cultivated for its subtly lemony and aniseed taste. Caraway being very hardy, it will withstand temperatures down to -20°C. It thrives in the ground – in the vegetable garden or in flowerbeds – as well as in a container or planter. Caraway umbels attract hoverflies. Their larvae devour gray aphids. A good means of protection for the plant!
