Handwoven blue silk scarf made from organic silk - traces

The blue scarf has continuous stripes that are arranged asymmetrically. The stripes are formed by small dots reminiscent of a bird's footprints. It is long and offers many possible combinations: for example as a stole with a little black dress, as an accessory to wear over a coat, to wrap around the neck several times or in a combination with a belt. This unique shawl is made from Tussah silk. It is a kind of wild silk that is obtained as Faire Seide / Peace Silk. In contrast to conventional silk processing, the caterpillars that spin the silk cocoons continue their life after metamorphosis as moths. Tussah silk has a special "grainy" surface. The fabric feels crisp and gets softer with wear. The naturally golden shimmer of the silk can be seen in the undyed areas. The design was created using the block printing technique, in which carved blocks of wood are used to transfer the desired pattern onto the textile surface. It is an old traditional printing technique in India. The yarn was spun by hand and processed into a scarf on hand looms. The weave is fine and noble. The symbiosis of traditional manufacturing methods and modern design makes this cloth a real work of art. Silk is also a very tear-resistant fiber that is durable. It not only gives the scarf its elegant shine, but also has great properties such as temperature regulation, so that the scarf is cooling in summer and warming in winter.
