Beylerbeyi Gobek

Beylerbeyi Göbek Rakısı ('Göbek' translates as 'belly') is made from grapes from the Aegean Sea of Alaşehir. In the five-stage distillation, the first and last part of the first distillate (Turkish: Suma) are removed. The middle part (Göbek belly) is distilled two more times in stills using the same method and with aniseeds. According to the standards of raki production, 10 grams of sugar per liter is allowed to be added to the raki. No additional sugar or agricultural alcohol is added to the Beylerbeyi Göbek Rakısı. The aniseed notes are very well and harmoniously integrated with the hints of grapes.
