Runa shoe made of cork (natural)

Our "Runa" sneaker is a faithful companion in everyday life. The cork gives each pair of shoes an individual look and impresses with their uniqueness. The basic material of these shoes is renewable cork from Portugal. In addition to being environmentally friendly, cork is characterized by good material properties (water-repellent, elastic and comfortable to wear). Cork-rich forests, which occur in southwest Europe and northwest Africa, are of great importance for the ecosystem. They prevent desertification by absorbing rainwater and are home to various endangered animal species on the Iberian Peninsula. During the "cork harvest", the regrowing bark of the cork tree is peeled by small farmers. The tree lives on, a new bark grows back and can be harvested again after a few years. Selling the cork increases the economic importance of the forests and ensures that they are preserved. The shoes do not require any special care, dirt can be easily removed with washing-up liquid, water and a brush.
