Fileja di Tropea is one of the best-known traditional pasta shapes in Calabria. These are macaroni with an elongated and rolled shape, produced in the province of Vibo, and particularly in Tropea, hence the name "Fileja di Tropea". In this version they are enriched with the intense and aromatic flavor of onion, to give even more flavor and color to your dishes. All Valle del Crati durum wheat semolina pasta is handcrafted using only selected Italian grains; it is bronze drawn and dried at low temperatures, so as to maintain a high content of proteins and nutrients. Uses in the kitchen Fileja di Tropea with onion is an aromatic pasta, excellent in combination with simple sauces based on fresh tomatoes; meat or fish ragout; vegetable-based white sauces. Good to be enjoyed simply seasoned with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a sprinkling of Pecorino and some spicy Calabrian chilli pepper. An ideal pasta for experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen! Tips for perfect cooking Use 6 liters of water per 500 g Add salt and when the water boils, pour in the pasta. Stir occasionally.
